Dr. Sandhya Gaur is an AIIMS-trained ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon practising in Bhopal, with dedicated sub-specialty expertise in diseases of the retina, vitreous and uvea, and in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). She completed her MD in Ophthalmology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi — India's premier medical institution — followed by DNB certification and long-term surgical vitreoretina fellowship training (FVRS, Vitreoretina & Uvea) at Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya, Chitrakoot, one of the world's highest-volume eye hospitals.
She was awarded the FAICO fellowship in Retina & Vitreous by the All India Ophthalmological Society as a Gold Medalist. Her experience spans complex retinal and uveal pathology in adults and children — managed both medically and surgically — including vitrectomy, retinal laser procedures, intravitreal injections, ROP screening and treatment, and cataract surgery by phacoemulsification and SICS.
An accomplished researcher and author of 18+ peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Gaur serves as Associate Editor of the Haryana Journal of Ophthalmology and has trained DNB and MS residents. She is committed to empathetic, evidence-based patient care and to community ophthalmology outreach.
